Domestic violence is not always easy to identify, as it can involve different behaviours, that can be subtle and physical violence is not always involved. It can take the form of physical, psychological or emotional abuse. The violence or abuse can be actual or threatened and can happen once every so often or on a regular basis.
Domestic violence is a pattern of controlling and/or aggressive behaviours from one towards another existing in the context of an intimate relationship, these relationships can be with a family member, carer, partner, or ex-partner.
